At the meeting of UNESCO's Intergovernmental Committee on Intangible Cultural Heritage held on November 26, 2014, the art of Azerbaijani kalaghayi was named "Kelaghayi Symbolism and Traditional Art" as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. It was included in the Representative List of Heritage. It was stated that the ancient city of Shaki and the settlement of Ismayilli are considered to be the home of the silk weavers. It was pointed out that in 1862 the Basgal weaver Nasir Abdulazizoğlu made a silver metal for the fabric. and awarded with a special diploma.
In the artistic part of the event, the students sang poems accompanied by music. The artistic director is associate professor of the university's "Orchestral Instruments and Conducting" department, Honored Artist of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Valida Huseynova, concertmaster, senior teacher of the "Fortepiano" department Faridah Aghayeva's performance by the "Belkanto" vocal group made the event more colorful.
