A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between NSU and ANAS
On June 14, there was a meeting between Nakhchivan State University and the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences at the Scientific Library of the university. Isayev, President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli, Chairman of the Nakhchivan Chair of ANAS, Academician Ismayil Hajiyev, Director of the Central Scientific Library of ANAS Huseyn Huseynov, Head of Chair of Foreign Relations and International Organizations of ANAS Esmira Alirzayeva, as well as the management and academic staff of the university participated.
A Memorandum of Understanding on scientific cooperation between ANAS and NSU was signed within the framework of the event. According to the memorandum, implementation of joint research projects, training and mutual exchange of scientific personnel, organization of scientific conferences, symposiums and seminars are envisaged. At the same time, the exchange of experience in library work and support for staff training, the exchange of scientific information, publications and works, the provision of free use of electronic resources of the Central Scientific Library of ANAS for the faculty and students of NSU are planned in the direction of expanding cooperation between the libraries of both institutions.
NSU Rector Elbrus Isayev assessed the joint activity as an important and successful cooperation, congratulated Academician Isa Habibbaylin and his staff on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of ANAS. He wished success in his activities. He said that bilateral relations are aimed at the development of the educational environment and the expansion of scientific relations. The rector reminded that books are exchanged with NSU, Baku State University, Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, Azerbaijan University of Languages and other higher schools, and drew attention to the responsible role of libraries as a scientific exchange platform.
Academician Isa Habibbayli, president of ANAS, expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and said that cooperation will make a valuable contribution to the development of science. The academician drew attention to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated March 18, 2025 "On the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences" and emphasized that this document is a clear example of the high value given to science, the Academy and scientists. He said that holding the anniversary event for the first time in his native Nakhchivan is of special importance. At the same time, Academician Isa Habibbayli highly appreciated the successes, scientific achievements and international cooperation relations of Nakhchivan State University in recent years.
Academician Ismayil Hajiyev, Chairman of Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS, said that Nakhchivan State University has a special place among the most advanced higher education institutions of the country. He noted that the cooperation is based on the desire of both sides to be mutually beneficial within the existing capabilities and to unite their efforts towards the expansion of bilateral cooperation. and they expressed that it will be a means to achieve effective indicators.
