A memorandum of understanding on academic cooperation was signed between Nakhchivan State University and the World Union of Azerbaijani Scientists.

Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev gave extensive information to the guests about the work done to improve the quality of education at the university. It was stated that the main goal of the university is to strengthen the integration with the Azerbaijani and international education systems and to turn the higher education institution into one of the world's leading universities. It was pointed out that increasing the research potential, establishing close relations with the labor market and industry, developing research-oriented teaching is one of the priorities of the university. It was reported that NSU successfully continues its multifaceted activities in the direction of self-evaluation and development.

During his speech, the chairman of the World Union of Azerbaijani Scientists, professor Masud Efendiyev, emphasized that the development of science and education is the main priority for modern society. The professor said that progress in the field of science and education is an important foundation of social and economic development. He noted that the competitiveness of scientific research and academic activities at the world level in modern times is an indispensable factor for both intellectual and technological development. Professor, also noted the importance of more involvement of students in research methods in universities, as well as the importance of developing scientific thinking and research skills.

Then a memorandum of understanding on academic cooperation was signed between Nakhchivan State University and the World Association of Azerbaijani Scientists

The memorandum includes mutual exchange of academic and research staff, in accordance with the legislation of the countries where the parties operate implementation of programs, exchange of academic research data and technical materials, publication or cooperation in cultural activities are envisaged. It is also planned to organize conferences, seminars, symposiums, congresses and other joint academic and scientific events, as well as regular trainings and seminars of scientists who are members of the World Association of Azerbaijani Scientists at Nakhchivan State University. This memorandum will serve to expand the scientific and academic relations between the two institutions.

In the end, the rector of the university Elbrus Isayev presented Professor Masud Efendiyev with a commemorative plaque and the book "Legend of the East of Nakhchivan".
