A new software and website of the Scientific library of Nakhchivan State University has been created

Rector of the university Elbrus Isayev, speaking at the event held for this purpose, spoke about the electronicization of the university scientific library. It was noted that the requirements of the modern era make inter-library relations necessary. With this in mind, there was a serious need to update and improve the website of the library. The rector said that according to the cooperation protocol signed between Nakhchivan State University and Gazi University of Turkey, NSU employees got acquainted with the library experience of Gazi University and learned the working principle of the library model built on new technologies. It was pointed out that the library is one of the eight Azerbaijani universities, along with partner universities from Europe, that joined the European Union-funded Erasmus program "Development of research potential through the network of institutional repositories (electronic archives) in Azerbaijan" (DIRNA). Elbrus Isayev said that within the framework of the mentioned project, last month, university employees participated in the trainings held at the Italian L'Aquila University libraries with the aim of creating an electronic archive in libraries, supporting open access to research results of library employees, and maintaining scientific communication and coordination between higher education institutions across the country. Mammadova expressed her gratitude for the support provided. The head of the University's Information Technologies department Huseyn Asgarli informed about the fundamentally improved site. It was reported that the official website of the university's Scientific Library and the new software were developed by the Chair of Information Technologies of NSU using modern programming languages. Necessary technical measures were taken to provide the updated website with an SSL (security) certificate, optimize it (SEO-Search Engine Optimization), adapt it to search engines, register it in the Google search engine and appear in the first ranks of search engines. The previous archive has been preserved and the necessary integration work has been carried out. It was reported that the main menu of the new website (lib.ndu.edu.az) consisting of 5 sections and 8 subsections, taking into account the general design, content, user comfort, and technical capabilities, includes the sections "Home", "Library", "Electronic catalog", "Media", "Contact us". Information about the library and its structure, photo and video materials, as well as information about the library's employees and events are posted on the site. It is possible to use the updated site through a computer, mobile phone and tablet. It is noted that one of the main features of the site is the use of the new software through the "Cataloguing", "News", "Responsible person", "Users", "Readers" and "Bibliography" sections under the heading "User access". The address, e-mail, and contact numbers of the Scientific Library of the university are placed in the "Contact Us" section. Citizens will be able to easily send their respective applications to e-mail (kitabxana@ndu.edu.az). At the same time, since the website has the ability to connect to the university's social media accounts - "Facebook", "Instagram", "Linkedin", it is possible to quickly share the materials on the site on social network accounts. The creation of the website and software in the university's network guarantees cyber security.
