A scientific-practical conference dedicated to "October 18 - Independence Restoration Day" was held at Nakhchivan State University

A scientific-practical conference on the topic "Historical and legal foundations of the restoration of our independence" was organized at Nakhchivan State University under the auspices of the Master's and Doctorate Center. href="https://ndu.edu.az/az/emekdaslar/nicat-yagubov" class="employee-link" title="Nicat Yagubov profile">Nicat Yagubov noted that 34 years ago - in 1991, the "Constitutional Act on State Independence" was adopted by the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Although the country faced serious threats after gaining independence, in 1993, with the return of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to political power, the preservation and development of independence became possible. Nijat Yagubov said that the legacy and political course of the National Leader is being successfully continued today by President Ilham Aliyev. As a result of this policy, Azerbaijan fully restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty in the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020 and local anti-terrorist measures in September 2023. Today, we are proudly celebrating "October 18 - Independence Restoration Day" throughout Azerbaijan, the tricolor flag of Azerbaijan is flying on the highest peaks.

In the framework of the conference, the center's first-year graduate students gave speeches on the topic. Nazli Aliyeva, who studied history specialization, "From the dream of centuries to reality: restoration of independence of Azerbaijan", Yagmur Mahmudova, a new and newest history specialization of Azerbaijan, "Historical continuity and changes in the state structure of the Republic of Azerbaijan before and after the restoration of independence", Sumaya Selimzade, a criminal process, criminology, forensics and investigative activity specialization, "National spirit and legal system: the legal legacy of October 18", spoke on their topics.
