Academic staff and students of NSU visited the archaeological expedition of the Institute of Archeology and Anthropology of ANAS.

With the organization of Nakhchivan State University, the professor-teacher staff of the Faculty of History and Philology, as well as students studying in the specialty "History" and "History Teacher" got acquainted with the latest archaeological research conducted in the ruins of Gilan, located in Ordubad district.  

Vice rector for social issues and public relations Nicat Yagubov said that such trips for young researchers organization is important and the main goal is to practically increase students' theoretical knowledge of archeology at the research site . It was emphasized that students are planned to be involved in expedition work during the summer season, and in the future it is planned to create an independent archaeological expedition under the University. white">recent archeological studies conducted in the area and detailed information about the findings was provided. Bahlul Ibrahimli, head of the ANAS Institute of Archeology and Anthropology, head of the Gilan ruins archaeological expedition, said that this complex is of great importance in terms of studying the rich urban planning and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan. Because, as one of the most important results of the research carried out here, findings related to the history of the early medieval period of Nakhchivan were discovered. At the same time, Bahlul Ibrahimli noted that the visit of the NSU academic staff and students is a commendable initiative. In the future, the "Summer School of Archaeologists" project is planned jointly with the Kharaba Gilan archaeological expedition and the university.
