An event dedicated to September 27 – Memorial Day was held at Nakhchivan State University.

At the beginning of the event, the dear memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who died for the Motherland was commemorated with a minute's silence, and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

Rector of NSU Elbrus Isayev, who opened the event with an introductory speech, said that September 27 - Memorial Day is of special importance in the modern history of Azerbaijan. He noted that the Victory won in the Patriotic War is the result of the military power of our country, the solidarity of our people and the national will.

The Rector drew attention to the fact that the state sovereignty of Azerbaijan was fully ensured by the local anti-terrorist measures implemented on September 19, 2023. This event went down in history as an important stage in the direction of restoring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.

Elbrus Isayev emphasized the importance of always honoring the dear memory of the martyrs. He said that Memorial Day plays an important role in the formation of the young generation in the spirit of loyalty to the Motherland, loyalty to national and moral values ​​and statehood.

Professor of NSU, Doctor of Philosophy, Honored Teacher Mammad Rzayev spoke about the role of the 44-day Patriotic War in the modern history of Azerbaijan. The professor said that the victory was a historical event in terms of restoring the territorial integrity of our state, and drew attention to the main stages of the road to victory.

Yagmur Mahmudova, a second-year graduate student of NSU, said in her speech on behalf of the students that the way of life and struggle of martyrs is an example for young people. He noted that it is the moral duty of every young person to keep alive the memory of the heroes who died for the Motherland and called on the students to adhere to national values ​​and principles of statehood.

At the end of the event, a video titled "Chronicle of Heroism" was shown.

Later, a book exhibition called "Our Glorious Victory History" was viewed in the Scientific Library of NSU in connection with September 27 - Memorial Day. Books and magazines depicting the history of the 44-day Patriotic War, the life and battle path of our heroes were displayed at the exhibition.

Also, the participants of the event viewed the art exhibition dedicated to the Memorial Day by teachers and students of the Faculty of Arts. At the exhibition, 35 painting and composition works of students of Fine arts teaching, Painting and Design majors were displayed. The works reflect love of the Motherland, dear memory of martyrs, heroism and national unity.
