An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Javad Javadli was held at NSU

Public Union for the Promotion of National Culture is implementing the project "Promotion of the literary heritage of the poet Javad Javadli" from August 1, 2026 with the financial support of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The next event within the project was held at the Nakhchivan State University, in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, where the writer was born.
The host of the event, the project manager, Jala Jafarova greeted the guests and reviewed the life and creative path of Javad Javadli, informed about the socio-political landscape of the period in which the writer lived, the difficulties he faced and the main directions of his literary activity. Javad pointed out that the fate of the people, historical memory and national truths play an important role in Javadli's creativity.
Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev, who spoke at the event, emphasized the role of Javad Javadli in illuminating the truths of Azerbaijan, noted the importance of his creativity in educating the young generation in the national spirit. The rector said that the problems of the writer's time and the painful events in the history of the Azerbaijani people were reflected in his works. Elbrus Isayev emphasized that Nakhchivan has given outstanding personalities to the people of Azerbaijan and emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of the personalities who fought for the freedom and happiness of the people.
Chairman of NMR Writers' Union, poet Asim Yadigar, in his speech, respectfully remembered Javad Javadli's support and care for the literary environment of Nakhchivan. Asim Yadigar, who spoke about the exile life of the writer's family, the difficulties he experienced and the reflection of these events in his work, emphasized the importance of the works "Child who escaped from Hell" and "Exile".
Other speakers also shared their views on the life and creativity of Javad Javadli.
A video dedicated to the writer's life and activities was shown at the event. In the artistic part, the students performed the poem "Nakhchivan" by Javad Javadli, and various musical numbers were performed. Later, a scene depicting the life of Javad Javadli was presented.
At the end, a commemorative photo was taken.
