Chairman of the World Association of Azerbaijani Scientists, professor Masud Efendiyev visited Nakhchivan State University

At the meeting held at Nakhchivan State University, the vice-rector for Science and Innovations of the university Elsever Asadov on behalf of the university staff greeted and gave detailed information about his scientific activity and achievements. It was noted that Masud Efendiyev is the chairman of the World Union of Azerbaijani Scientists, the head of the "Dynamic systems" chair of the "Helmholtz" Scientific Research Center in Germany, the first Azerbaijani scientist to win the Humboldt Prize, as well as the Honored Scientist of the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the meeting, Elsever Asadov asked a number of questions of interest to the professor's activities, and the professor gave detailed answers to those questions.

A well-known Azerbaijani mathematician living in Germany, the first Azerbaijani scientist to win the Humboldt Prize, Professor Masud Efendiyev said that he visited Nakhchivan for the first time. During the meeting, the scientist, who gave information about his scientific activity and life, also drew attention to the international awards he won. Speaking about the establishment and goals of the World Association of Azerbaijani Scientists, he noted that this association serves to strengthen the position of Azerbaijani scientists in the world scientific community and expand cooperation between them. Professor Masud Efendiyev emphasized that he visited Nakhchivan State University on his personal initiative. He said that he wants to get to know the potential of the university more closely, as well as to discuss the possibilities of cooperation. The scientist specially emphasized that the rich history, cultural heritage and scientific environment of Nakhchivan are of great interest to him.

At the end of the meeting, professor Masud Efendiyev answered the questions of teachers and students.

After the meeting, he became familiar with the Scientific Library of Nakhchivan State University. The director of the library Khumar Mammadova informed the professor about the history of the library, its activities, existing funds and electronic resources. There was also a book corner created in the name of the professor and a special section newly added to the official website of Nakhchivan State University, which contains information about the scientific activities of Azerbaijani scientists living abroad. The professor highly appreciated the rich resources and modern facilities of the library.
