"Graduation Day" of NSU students: the year with the largest number of graduates in the history of the University
On June 24 Nakhchivan State University (NDU) organized the 55th "Alumni Day" in the history of the institution of higher education at the Clock Square Recreation Center.
First, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.
The event was attended by more than four thousand people, including the management and academic staff of the university, honorary graduates, intellectuals, public figures, students and parents.
The event began with the presentation of the university's promotional video to the sound of the music number "Bizik sabayyin sesi" presented by the well-known TV host Abbasaga Alizade. Then it continued with the solemn graduation ceremony to the sound of music.
Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev, who spoke at the event, spoke about the state youth policy, which was founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and continued by President Ilham Aliyev. emphasized that it is kept in the center of special attention as one of the priorities. Congratulating the graduates, Rector Elbrus Isayev said: "Nakhchivan State University, which is half a century old, has passed a rich development path. In 1967 , it started its activities with teachers from only 3 states, 3 majors, and 102 students. Today, it is the only campus university in the country with 10 faculties, 45 departments, 524 people on an area of 108 hectares. faculty, with a contingent of about 12 thousand students. There are 3 colleges, 1 International Cambridge School and 1 English-oriented Gymnasium, 2 research institutes, and 1 observatory. As an autonomous higher education institution with a modern type and multi-profile education system background: white">As the only university in the republic, it prepares highly qualified specialists in 4 directions in about 250 programs. In the development strategy of the university, goals supporting the development of science have been defined, specialties taught in English along with the Azerbaijani language have been opened, and international cooperation has been strengthened.".
Rector Elbrus Isayev noted that within the framework of the NSU's activities to strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions of foreign countries and organize joint programs, arising from the "State Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023-2027" of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the number of foreign professors involved in teaching and research is continuously being implemented. increases and joint scientific research is carried out. The university implements a student-oriented education system, establishes direct relations with about 150 universities of the world, and ranks among the national universities with about 2,000 foreign students from 15 countries.
Noting that the students of Nakhchivan State University are distinguished not only by their academic performance, but also by their scientific activities, start-up initiatives, volunteering and social activities, the rector spoke about their success in international conferences, student organizations, and social projects. Elbrus Isayev noted that in 2025, a total of 2,313 people will successfully complete their graduate studies together with educational institutions under NSU. There was an increase of 5% compared to last year and it goes down in history as the year when the educational institution produced the most graduates in the history of NSU. At the same time, according to the analysis of the indicators of the last 5 years, 73% of university graduates work in the labor market in positions corresponding to their qualifications. Noting that the success achieved by the students is the biggest indicator of the university's development strategy, the rector wished the graduates to become highly qualified specialists, young people who have high hopes for our country, and worthy citizens. After the rock band's performance, certificates and gifts were presented to the graduates who had a high GPA during their studies and were distinguished by their special activity, and a commemorative plaque to the "Graduate Stump" was shot.
The event featured colorful musical numbers performed by the "Mardan" group invited from Baku.
At the end, the graduation ceremony and spectacular fireworks took place. A memorable event program was presented on the occasion of "Graduation Day".
