Nakhchivan State University has strengthened its relations with Turkish universities

A meeting was held between the delegation of Nakhchivan State University and Ankara, Gazi and Ankara Yıldırım Beyazit Universities.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the "Socio-economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" According to the Decree on the approval of the State Program for 2023-2027, a meeting was held between the delegation of Nakhchivan State University and 3 prestigious higher education institutions of Turkey in order to strengthen cooperation between Nakhchivan State University and higher education institutions of foreign countries, organize joint programs, implement dual diploma projects, and establish a Medical Research Clinic. At the meeting, both rectors talked about the importance of close ties between higher education institutions as a manifestation of brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey. Current relations between universities, future cooperation prospects were discussed.

The rector of the brotherly country, Necdet Ünüvar, who expressed his readiness for cooperation in all fields, spoke about the current state of cooperation and opportunities for future cooperation during the meeting. It was stated that the participation of the rector and the delegation in conferences and forums held at NSU is an indicator of effectively established relations.

Elbrus Isayev pointed out that during the period of mutual cooperation established with Ankara University, a total of about 310 students and teachers were involved in the internship process at the higher educational institution of the brother country.  The rector emphasized the importance of conducting joint trainings at the undergraduate and graduate level regarding medical education at the undergraduate and residency levels, the opportunity to have practical experience at the Big Data center established at Ankara University. At the same time, attention was paid to the issues of organizing teaching and research, sharing the experience of NSU Conservatory with Ankara University. It was noted that based on the memorandum of cooperation signed between Nakhchivan State University and Ankara University, the parties mutually benefited from each other's opportunities and experiences in their academic and scientific activities, exchange of professors and teachers was carried out for scientific purposes, all kinds of books, scientific publications and similar materials were mutually exchanged for teaching and research purposes.

Within the visit, Gazi University Rector Musa Yıldız and the management team of the higher education institution drew attention to the rapid development of close and friendly relations between the universities founded in 2021, and the importance of dozens of students and residents being on internships and rotations at Gazi University during the past period.

During the meeting, a mutual gift was presented between the rectors.

Within the visit, a meeting was held with the students of the Faculty of Medicine of Nakhchivan State University in Turkey. Elbrus Isayev drew attention to the importance of the visit organized for the purpose of using the experiences of Ankara University and Gazi hospitals in the design and construction of the newly created Medical campus for Nakhchivan State University, and to get to know the innovations on the spot. It was noted that he talked about the importance of students getting internships in Polyclinic Reception, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Reanimation departments of Ankara Oncology Laboratory, Ibn Sina Hospital, Gazi Hospital and exchanging ideas with chief doctors and deputies regarding the design of the Medical Campus, administrative-structural issues and staffing. It was emphasized that a total of 25 students participate in internal medicine, general surgery,  gynecological diseases and obstetrics, emergency, and psychiatry at Ankara University. At Gazi University, experiments are held at a high level with the participation of 34 students, including 8 residents. Elbrus Isayev, being interested in the progress of the practice, gave them advice and talked about the importance of the practice, and at the same time thanked the university rectors for the high level organization of the practice, which has already become a tradition for medical students. The trainee students, in turn, expressed their gratitude to the management of both higher education institutions.

It should be noted that Najiba Nasibova, the education adviser of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Turkey, also participated in the meetings. Rector Ali Cengiz Köseoglu cordially welcomed the delegation and discussed the existence of common priority areas and potential directions of cooperation. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between higher education institutions for the purpose of formalizing future prospective relations and for the initial initiative. The Memorandum of Cooperation includes the exchange of academic staff and students between the two universities, conducting joint research, holding joint conferences, exchanging academic information and materials, organizing joint language courses and other important issues. src="https://ndu.edu.az/storage/news-blogs/July2024/IMG_20240719_220858_378.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="300">
