National Hero Yusif Mirzayev was commemorated at Nakhchivan State University

An event was held at Nakhchivan State University (NDU) dedicated to the memorial day of the National Hero of Azerbaijan Yusif Mirzayev Veli oglu.

First, there was a viewing of the exhibition reflecting the life and battle path of the National Hero.

Then the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

Nakhchivan State University Rector Elbrus Isayev opened the event with an introductory speech and emphasized that the life path of such heroes is a true example for young people. The Rector noted that despite the difficult conditions of the First Karabakh War, Yusif Mirzayev fought heroically until his last breath. The memory of the National Hero has always been respected by our state, school No. 44 in the Nasimi district of Baku was named after him, a bust was erected in front of the school, and his memory was immortalized in museums and films. Yusif MirzayevYusif Mirzayev 19, who was born in the village of Buyukduz on May 23, 1958, was arrested for his participation in the people's movement in the 1990s and protests during the January 20 tragedy. was done. Yusif Mirzayev, whose kidneys were damaged due to torture in prison, then voluntarily went to the front Goranboy and Aghdara he fought bravely against the enemy with his group of 14 people. On February 19, 1993, he was martyred while taking his soldiers out of the siege in an unequal battle in Agdara. After his death, he was given the honorary title "National Hero of Azerbaijan". NSU rector Elbrus Isayev presented the portrait of the martyr to his family members.

In the artistic part of the event, the song "Yusifim" performed by the "Belcanto" vocal group of the Faculty of Arts and the song "Brave soldier" dedicated to Yusif Mirzayev by Shamistan Alizamanli were performed.

At the end, the movie "Brave Soldier" dedicated to the glorious war path of the National Hero was shown.
