NSU and ITU are starting to establish joint laboratories in the field of nanotechnology and energy

        Cooperation between Nakhchivan State University and Istanbul Technical University will be implemented in the direction of creating joint laboratories in the fields of nanotechnology and energy. The parties will expand cooperation on doctoral programs, double diplomas, startup projects and summer-winter schools. It was agreed upon during the meeting held on February 10, 2026. 

In the framework of the meeting, Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev and Rector of Istanbul Technical University, Professor Hasan Mandal identified cooperation in the directions of increasing scientific competitiveness, expanding student and teacher exchanges, organizing joint programs at master's and doctoral levels, conducting scientific research and implementing joint projects as priorities.

At the same time, cooperation in the field of doctoral education and scientific guidance in the fields of "Computer engineering" and "Digital technologies", preparation of joint research projects is also planned.

Parties It envisages the implementation of the "Startup Bootcamp" project covering Agrotech, EdTech, energy technologies and artificial intelligence-based application areas with the participation of NSU and ITU students.

According to the agreement, summer and winter schools will be organized in the cities of Nakhchivan and Istanbul within the framework of the "Advanced Engineering & Technology School" for 2-3 weeks. Within the framework of the program, trainings will be held in the areas of artificial intelligence and data science, robotics, and cyber security.

During the meeting, the issues of cooperation in the field of technology park, implementation of joint projects, benefiting from ITU's experience in this direction and organization of joint seminars were also discussed. The creation of dual diploma programs in the fields of artificial intelligence technologies, computer, electrical and electronics engineering was highlighted as one of the main priorities.>Let's note that the first cooperation protocol between the universities was signed in 2022, and the existing agreement was renewed in 2025.
