"Rare flora" scientific research group of NSU continues its scientific research in Shahbuz

"Rare flora" scientific research group consisting of teachers and students of the "Biology" chair of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Agriculture of Nakhchivan State University organized a scientific expedition to the middle mountainous areas of Shahbuz region.

The main purpose of the expedition was to discover new plant species, to familiarize students with the rich flora diversity of the region, to support the research activities of the scientific-pedagogical staff, to enrich the herbarium fund with new specimens and to conduct research in the direction of paleobotany.

The conducted researches were successful. During the expedition, a plant species new to the flora of Azerbaijan was discovered. In addition, the group members identified paleobotanical plant remains for the first time.

Research works are still ongoing. The students participating in the expedition made an important contribution to the research process by showing activity in scientific research.
