Rheumatology conference was held at Nakhchivan State University

The Nakhchivan Rheumatology Conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine was held at the University Hospital on April 18 under the joint initiative of Nakhchivan State University and Azerbaijan Rheumatology Public Union.

Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of the University at the conference Elsever Asadov, University Chief physician of the hospital Elmar Rzayev, member of the Board of Directors of the Public Union of Rheumatologists of Azerbaijan, head of the Chair of Rheumatology and Systemic Diseases of the Baku Health Center Nargiz Huseynova, member of the Board of Directors of the Public Union of Rheumatologists of Azerbaijan, employee of Azerbaijan Medical University, Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine Shahla Hadiyeva, rheumatologists working in hospitals of the autonomous republic, teachers and students of the Faculty of Medicine participated.

Elsever Asadov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of the University, spoke about the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine and its development path. He said that the Faculty of Medicine, which started its operation with the specialty of Pediatrics, is currently training almost all medical and health-related specialties and currently plays an important role in the training of medical personnel in the country. Elsever Asadov said that a number of projects were implemented within the framework of effective cooperation established with Azerbaijan Medical University and I.M. Sechenov I Moscow State Medical University, Baku branch, and wished success to the work of the conference. Dr. Elmar Rzayev spoke about the operation of the hospital and its role in the training of medical personnel. He considered recognition and approval of "Azerbaijan Rheumatology and Inflammation" magazine by international indexes under the Public Union of Rheumatologists of Azerbaijan, which signed a first in the field of rheumatology in the history of medicine in the country, as a great success. Elmar Rzayev drew attention to the importance of the held conference for doctors, teachers and students.

Nargiz Huseynova, member of the Board of the Public Union of Rheumatologists of Azerbaijan, head of the Chair of Rheumatology and Systemic Diseases of Baku Health Center "Spondyloarthropathies" made a wide presentation. Inflammatory back pain, peripheral spondyloarthritis, rheumatological diseases, diagnosis, treatment and other issues were reported.

At the end, the questions of interest to the participants were answered.
