The Second Republican Scientific Conference on "Organic and Sustainable Agriculture: Ecological Balance and Sustainable Development" was organized by NSU

Under the organization of Nakhchivan State University, the II Republican Scientific Conference on "Organic and sustainable agriculture: Ecological balance and sustainable development" was held at the Technical College of the university.

The conference was hosted by Nakhchivan State University, Azerbaijan State Agrarian University, the Ministries of Agriculture and Economy of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Institute of Botany of the Ministry of Science and Education, and the Scientific Research Institute of Plant Protection and Technical Plants of the Ministry of Agriculture were organized in partnership.

The participants of the event first got acquainted with the exhibition of agricultural products reflecting the results of scientific research in the field of agriculture. After that, the dear memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who died for the Motherland was commemorated with a minute's silence, and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Rector of NSU Elbrus Isayev emphasized the importance of scientific research, state support and scientific-practical cooperation in the development of the agricultural sector. He pointed out the importance of researching global challenges such as climate change, limited water resources and land degradation on scientific grounds, and applying research results in agriculture. Speaking about the work done in the university in the direction of expanding the training of personnel in the agricultural field, developing scientific research facilities, creating new laboratories and studying plant resources, the Rector noted the importance of strengthening cooperation between scientists, farmers and state institutions.

Rector of Azerbaijan State Agrarian University Zafar Gurbanov, Rector of Mingachevir State University Anar Eminov, Minister of Economy of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Kazim Huseynaliyev, Minister of Agriculture of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Rafail Guliyev and professor of NSU, full member of ANAS Tariyel Talibov spoke at the conference. The issues of sustainable development of the agricultural sector, efficient use of water and land resources, effects of climate change and application of modern scientific approaches were in the focus of the speeches.

Within the framework of the conference, the results of research conducted in the direction of the production of ecologically clean food products, efficient use of natural resources, environmental protection, protection of land and water resources, as well as the formation of sustainable agricultural systems in the conditions of climate change were presented and discussed.

The main purpose of the event was to discuss the role of sustainable agriculture, modern scientific approaches and advanced practices against the background of the growing demand for organic products, to evaluate the solutions according to the natural-climatic characteristics of the regions and to expand scientific-practical cooperation.

At the end, the university presented thank you plaques to the partner institutions of the conference.
