Joint staff training in the field of medicine between Nakhchivan State University and Hacettepe University

Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev and his delegation are visiting Hacettepe University, a prestigious higher education institution in Turkey.   

Discussions were held on the exchange of academic staff and students in the field of "Nursing work" newly opened at the bachelor's level of education at Nakhchivan State University, providing support in the field of staffing, opening new specialties at the Medical College operating under Nakhchivan State University and other issues.

Rector of Hacettepe University, Professor Mehmet Cahit Güran, drew attention to the importance of Nakhchivan in geographical, political and other fields, and expressed his gratitude for giving preference to Hacettepe University in the process of evaluating existing experiences. Speaking about the importance of cooperation between the two universities, the Rector spoke about the importance of the work to be done in the future. The rector touched on the relations between the two universities and talked about the successes of the higher educational institution in terms of teaching, scientific activities and international relations. It was noted that Nakhchivan State University, which is the only higher education institution with a medical faculty in Azerbaijan, has effective and multifaceted cooperation with a number of prestigious universities of brother Turkey. The Rector drew attention to the fact that the number of 2 thousand foreign students studying at NSU is dominated by Turkish citizens. It was reported that there was a great support of Turkish universities in the training of professional medical personnel. So, every year, hundreds of our students go to Turkey's Ankara, Gazi, Istanbul Yeditepe, Koceli, Erzurum Atatürk, etc. they participate in rotations and internships in the hospitals of their universities.

Then, within the framework of the implementation of the "2023-2027 State Program on the Socio-Economic Development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic", the newly built Medical Campus of the Nakhchivan State University will be designed, structured and ideas were exchanged on the use of experience of Hacettepe University in administrative matters, planning, identification of needs, efficient and appropriate organization of medical services.

Then a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Hacettepe University and Nakhchivan State University. In the memorandum, scientific and educational cooperation, exchange of academic staff and students, development of programs providing exchange or double diploma opportunities, promotion of joint research works, exchange of academic research data and technical materials, cooperation in the field of publishing or cultural activities, holding meetings such as conferences, symposiums, etc. organization of joint academic and scientific activities and other issues have been defined as areas and forms of cooperation.
