Sustainable Development Center was opened at Nakhchivan State University

The Sustainable Development Center was opened at Nakhchivan State University. The center was established with the joint support of NSU and "Istedad-XXI asr" Limited Liability Company (MMC) preparatory courses. He said that the Center aims to contribute to the implementation of 17 goals of sustainable development. On this basis, activities will be carried out in technical and pedagogical sciences in such directions as green energy, sustainable cities, clean water, gender equality, quality education and healthy life. At the same time, preparation of policy documents and reports, conducting scientific research in the university is also envisaged in the activity of the Center. This new Center, created through a public-private partnership, is an example of university-industry collaboration. The newly created center will serve to promote the principles of sustainable development at NSU and expand scientific research in this field. Rector Elbrus Isayev stressed that this initiative should be evaluated properly and usefully. Meetings and events should be held in the Center, relations of student organizations with the Center should be established and other activities should be organized according to the defined goals. It is mentioned on the website that in order to increase literacy of sustainable development within the Center, surveys will be conducted, regular trainings will be organized, and educational activities will be conducted through student clubs. It was noted that a contract was signed with ten foreign researchers and mutual activity was established with them as researchers of the Center, scientific researches will be carried out together with NSU employees.
