An event was held at the International School of Nakhchivan State University in connection with the 101st anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev

The event began with a minute of silence and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.  Nakhchivan State University vice-rector for education and training Rafik Rahimov made a speech and noted that the political legacy of the great leader Heydar Aliyev is the basis of our independent statehood. More than fifty years of Azerbaijan's 20th century history is connected with the personality of Heydar Aliyev and his great constructive activity. He not only protected Nakhchivan in the difficult days of the great leader, but even in the most difficult moments, he laid down the basic principles of a wise policy calculated for the future of Azerbaijan as a whole with the decisions he made in the autonomous republic. He protected his people from all troubles. Now the works started by him are successfully continued by his political successor, President Mr. Ilham Aliyev. Successfully fulfilling his father's advice, the head of the country, Muzaffar Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev, liberated our lands from the enemy, which had been under occupation for nearly 30 years, during the 44-day Patriotic War. Although it coincided with the time, this period has a great value in the history of Azerbaijan's independence. He emphasized that the great leader Heydar Aliyev's ideas are eternal.

Interesting performances, dances and skits prepared by school students in the artistic part of the event aroused the interest of the participants.
