Within the framework of the "International Training Month" on April 28 Garib Mushidov, professor of molecular biology at the "Medical Research Council" laboratory located in Cambridge, Great Britain He attended Nakhchivan State University. The visiting professor took training on "Macromolecular crystallography and cryogenic electron microscopy" at the event organized at the Faculty of Medicine. he is one of the scientists who was able to name the borders of the country. He is a well-known expert in the field of bioinformatics and the first Azerbaijani scientist invited to Cambridge University in Great Britain. The professor is the author and co-author of more than 60 scientific articles, several books and collections. The number of references to the scientific works and programs prepared by the world-famous scientist is more than 20,000.

In training, Professor Garib Murshudov gave a report on the development of effective mathematical, statistical and computational algorithms for structural analysis in the field of macromolecular crystallography and cryogenic electron microscopy. He also reported on the UniProt database, where protein three-dimensional structure studies, protein sequence and functional information are freely available. In addition, the history of the establishment of the "Medical Research Council" laboratory, where the professor works, and detailed information about the scientists of this laboratory who were awarded the Nobel Prize were also presented.
