"Psychological service and child development center" was opened at NSU.

On October 15, 2025, the "Psychological service and child development center" was opened at Nakhchivan State University.

Rector of the university Elbrus Isayev made a speech and noted that the opening of the "Psychological service and child development center" is very important for the training of highly qualified psychologists. Because, since 2021, the "Psychology" specialty at the undergraduate level, and the "Developmental psychology" specialization at the master's level, from the 2025-2026 academic year, is being trained at the university. The rector emphasized that, as in all areas of the higher education institution, the specialty "Psychology" is especially important, and innovations in this direction are being followed. It was reported that the Center, which was opened today, is equipped with a rich material and technical base, and students can take advantage of these opportunities to acquire practical skills by organizing various simulations both in the educational process and in extracurricular activities. Elbrus Isayev also talked about the events held for the enrichment of academic knowledge, especially the First Forum of Azerbaijan Psychologists held at Nakhchivan State University for the first time. It was emphasized that both organizational measures and the center opened today indicate that the results obtained in this direction will not only improve the quality of teaching in the specialty of Psychology at NSU, but will also support the development of this field in the country in general.  It was noted that it is planned to provide services in two directions in the center established for psychological and educational purposes. Psychological services will be provided to the university staff who need psychological support in the "Psychological consultation" room inside the center. At the "Child Development Center", students studying in the "Psychology" specialty will have the opportunity to ensure that teaching is conducted on a practical basis. 

Nurane Salimova, a psychologist of Nakhchivan State University, gave information about the activities of the "Child Development Center" and the equipment available in the center. It was noted that there is a "Play Attention" device for helping children with attention deficit and hyperactivity, a "Virtual reality" device for the purpose of eliminating various phobias and adaptation problems, a "Forbrain" device for the purpose of developmental support for children with speech problems, and various tools for eliminating sensory adaptation in children and various psychological developmental delays.
