A concert program of the ensemble of Ancient Folk Instruments took place at NSU

A concert program of the ensemble of Ancient Folk Instruments of Nakhchivan Music College was held at Nakhchivan State University under NSU.
The concert organized under the artistic direction of Huseyn Mursalov started with traditional music numbers. "Bayati-Shiraz color" was performed by the ensemble, and then the students presented musical numbers such as "Jeyran bala", Kirkuk folk song "I love you, allam", "Mani" rhythmic mugam, "Ay beautiful", "Bas mukhammammas", "Devachi spring", "Absheron dance", "Naz olaydi", "Nihavend Longa" (Kevser Hanim).

During the concert, the ensemble of Ancient Folk Instruments showed the audience the richness of our national music and ancient musical traditions.
The event was met with great interest and applause by the participants.
In the end, Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev spoke about the role of music in the cultural life of NSU and Nakhchivan in general. Speaking about the importance of teamwork, Elbrus Isayev drew attention to the importance of orchestra development, continuous formation of professional staff training along the school-college-university line, and professionalization of new faces.
Let's note that the ensemble of Ancient Folk Musical Instruments was first established by Ikhtiyar Seyidov, a teacher of "Love art" in 2005.

As the artistic director of the ensemble, he restored a number of ancient instruments and managed to bring them back to stage life. The composition of the ensemble includes ancient instruments such as barbet, rud, gopuz, pefur, chagana, chang, qanun, bam tar, dilruba tanbur, bowed rubab.
At the same time, wind instruments such as ney, pipe and drum were added to the ensemble.
New instruments such as Nakhchivan tanburu and bam rubab were created by Ikhtiyar Seyidov and the collective was further enriched.
At the next stage, drums, double drums and singing instruments were also included in the composition of the ensemble.

Although the ensemble ceased its activities in 2021, in 2025 the activity of the collective was resumed at the initiative of the Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev.
