Rector of NSU Elbrus Isayev participated in the international conference dedicated to "Dada Gorgud" saga in Turkey

On October 10, the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Kars, "Igdir Azerbaijan House", as well as Igdir University and Nakhchivan State University jointly organized an international conference dedicated to the "Dade Gorgud" saga at Turkey's Igdir University.

Governor Ercan Turan, who gave an opening speech at the event, called the epic "Dade Gorgud" the "cultural code" of the Oghuz Turks. "The name Igdir was born from the name of one of the Oghuz tribes. The values ​​preached in the saga and songs have not lost their importance to this day," said the governor. He emphasized that the path to the strengthening of the Turkish people is through the path leading to unity and solidarity. E. Turan called the current close cooperation and dialogue between the presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan "a guarantee of peace and stability in the region".> He pointed out that "Dade Gorgud" is a unique heritage that unites the Turkic world and stressed that its research, writing works on this topic, and publishing books will be a contribution to the entire Turkic world. Also, Rector Elbrus Isayev, who called "Dade Gorgud's book" an unparalleled source not only for the Turkish epic heritage, but for the world epic creation, urged the youth to thoroughly study and highly value this famous epic that has stood the test of time.

Igdir The rector of the university, Ekrem Gurel, spoke about the importance of the epic "Dada Gorgud" in his speech. Rector  Ekrem Gurel: "I sincerely believe that the results of this conference held with the participation of well-known scientists of Turkey and Azerbaijan will give impetus to new successful beginnings in many fields, including literature, history, linguistics, art and sociology," he said. Consul General in Kars, Zamin Aliyev, emphasized that the "Dade Gorgud" saga is an internationally recognized work. He noted that the "Book of Dada Gorgud" was included in UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. "Recognizing the epic at the international level puts a responsibility on us. The shared history and cultural roots of Turkey and Azerbaijan make us members of the same family," Z. Aliyev said. the epic has been learned and lived from generation to generation not only in Azerbaijan, but also in Turkey. "This work is well known to the Turkish public, especially the people of Igdir. Family, love of the land, bravery, hospitality, respect for the elder, care for the younger, which are the main values ​​that form the Turkish national identity, are all reflected in the pages of 'Dade Gorgud'," he stressed. >The event continued with two sessions with the participation of Azerbaijani and Turkish scientists.
