Qualifying competitions among first-year students have started at Nakhchivan State University

  At Nakhchivan State University, traditional qualifying competitions among first-year students in various fields of sports have been started. Competitions will be held in six sports - mini football, boys' and girls' volleyball, table tennis, chess and basketball. First, mini football competitions have been started and the matches will continue for several days.

Rector of Nakhchivan State University, Elbrus Isayev, speaking at the opening ceremony of the competitions, spoke about the successes of the students in various types of sports and wished that these achievements would continue. The rector said that the sports strategy has been adopted at the university, systematic and accountable activities will be implemented in this direction, and the results will be discussed regularly. He emphasized that the main goal is to prepare teams that can succeed at the national and international level. The Rector also spoke about the importance of involving students in sports and the opportunities created at the university in this direction.

Mammadali Rahimov, chairman of the university's sports club, said in his speech that the main purpose of the competitions is to identify talented students from among the first-year students, to attract them to the university team and to encourage them to participate in sports training.

It should be noted that a total of 13 teams, including teams from all faculties of the university, as well as the Medical College, Technical College and Music College operating under NSU, participate in the competitions.
