A scientist who worked at NSU for 52 years and taught more than 5000 students was retired
Farman Gojayev, associate professor of the "General and theoretical physics" chair of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Candidate of Physics and Mathematics Sciences, who completed his 52-year scientific and pedagogical activity at Nakhchivan State University, has been retired.
Speaking at the event, Rector of NSU Elbrus Isayev said that the scientist made important contributions to the scientific and academic development of the university, the teaching of physical science and the training of qualified personnel for more than half a century, and thanked him for his many years of effective activity.
Vugar Salmanov, dean of the physics-mathematics faculty, Billura Hajiyeva, head of the "General and theoretical physics" department, and other speakers spoke about Farman Gocayev's scientific and pedagogical path and his services in educating students.
It was noted that in 1968-1971, Farman Gocayev, who studied post-graduate studies at the Institute of Physics of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, was one of the first scientists who conducted research on the application of thin layers of semiconductors in Azerbaijan. In 2007, the scientist was awarded the "Progress" medal based on the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Farman Gojayev said that during his 52 years of activity, he taught more than 5,000 students and trained 5 candidates of sciences, and thanked the university administration and staff for their attention.
In the end, the rector of NSU, Elbrus Isayev, presented a "Thank you letter" to the scientist.
